The new privacy function, which is available for the Galaxy S21 and S22 phones, can restrict access to confidential information and online accounts while the device is being repaired.

The One UI 5 software, which is currently rolling out, is operating on Samsung Galaxy S21 and S22 devices, and the feature is named “Maintenance mode” (Opens in a new window).
Only preinstalled apps can be utilized while the device is in maintenance mode, according to Samsung. This includes photographs, messages, and accounts.

Prior to deploying it in China in September, the business tested the feature in South Korea in July of last year. Over the next months, Samsung now intends to globally push out the new privacy mode to all applicable users.
The Maintenance mode option should be located at the bottom of the Battery and device care menu in Settings, where users can access the feature. The owner only needs to restart the phone after turning on the function to start limiting access to their personal information.
